A Letter To My Unborn Son

I feel you in there, moving around. Only about 2 and a half months to go! And I can’t wait to meet you, baby. I pray you’re born healthy and whole. High hopes I have for you! I could worry myself sick, wondering if you are okay. Instead, I’m trusting the Lord to take care of you in there. As I pray for you to be born healthy, I also pray for your future as a young man. First and foremost, I want you to love Jesus at an early age. Me, growing as a mother and raising you with the Lord’s guidance is my first priority. Don’t be scared of Jesus, little man. I was for many years. Until I learned of His holy love. Have a reverence for Him that brings you to make good choices. You know, your brother wants to be a police officer. I’m rooting for him! And I will be rooting for you once you know what you want to do in life. Just know that your occupation doesn’t define you. Neither does your color, your gender or your age. It’s who you belong to that defines who you are, baby. Mommy will do her best to lead you to Christ, and I know Satan is after your soul so I will cover you in prayer as I live an exemplary life in front of you. To show you that there is freedom in Holiness. Even as I set up your gift registry, go shopping for the first clothes you will wear, and arrange space for you at home, I am praying over you. As your daddy and I plan for you, the Lord already has your days numbered. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11. And “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; You are worth more than many sparrows.” – Luke 12:7. Just as the Lord doesn’t want you to be afraid, I don’t either baby. Be courageous. Make big goals, and go after them! You can do whatever you dream, and whatever the Lord has planned for you. I wonder what you will look like, but God already knows. I think you will look like your brother, but with a uniqueness to you. I will find out when I meet you! Until then, I work, I plan, I pray. And I wait. I love you!
